Physical culture against free market capitalism

Capitalism is an economic system where private property is owned within private hands and this property is used to generate profit, the modern version and interpretation of this economic system seen within the United States is free market capitalism, the liberation of this economic system from the restraint of law. Morality and religion were responses to the condition of human life without restraint and standards, and the rules for what was to be performed and dictated and what was to not be done was previously a religious duty but law had already become completely decoupled from religion and this might have accelerated the decline of Christianity as it liberated mankind from the restrictions which Christianity imposed for so long, until it finally became unbelievable, accelerated by the scientific and physiological discoveries of the 1800s and 1900s – and now religion itself which offered a system of values to attempt to elevate humanity beyond the mere animal, beyond mere life, has been replaced by capitalism which now dictates the values of society towards mere life and acting on immediate, raw impulse and away from delaying gratification. The entire, central goal of civilization – to create the ability to control one’s own behavior – is being undermined through free market capitalism to such a degree that it might be said that it is devolving the human race. The religious foundation of the West has been shattered with a hammer and the entirety of law, religion, conventional Christian morality crumbles down with it, and in the broken glass and shattered remains of civilization the entirety of human existence, thought, not even simply the conscious but the unconscious aspects of all of human life are built upon the back of the naked human body, the body as it is, the body with its own drives separate and distinct from the wishes and demands of society at large, the body which engaged in sacrificial rites, trance and mystical experiences, the body which has its own extrasensory intuition, and this sleeping giant has been reawakened, unchained, and now the body remains the contended upon object which the free market capitalist and the materialist scientist want to vivisect to use this information to turn it into another form of property which it can generate value from, generate money from, whereas the the athlete and philosopher want to elevate it to the level of high art, moving on from the damage, trauma, humiliation and lack of pride, and physical harm inflicted upon the body through Christian mortifications and atonements, the industrial capitalist horrors of machinery and motors and cracked human bones, past the late capitalist which reduces the ingenuity, beauty, grace, strength, and absolute perfection of the human body and its spirit to meat, mere life: a combination of muscle and breath which can be studied and used to understand: a) what makes a human body feel pleasure b) how can we manipulate the systems within the body to exploit this and c) from this understanding, how can we press upon these natural impulses with our fingers to turn blood into money. The most dehumanizing event is occurring with the information age, felt but not fully expressed. A human being reduced to a nervous system with sensory organs which can detect stimuli and experience pleasure. A body which has muscles which can contort and stretch and twist. And here the only real counterpart to this thing which takes the human body and puts it into a meat grinder is the light and dancelike, the ascension of the body into physical and aesthetic beauty through nourishment: the ascension of the spirituality of man from the physical health of his body, the engagement with social and physical activities which impose their own demands, their own set of morals apart from those supported by free market capitalism, the man seen sprinting and exerting himself and laughing and smiling with fellow athletes is the man of this new age and he is in this eternal moment the extension of a thread which has been trying to become born since the dawn of prehistory and through the traumas of the miscarriages and abortions and attempts to crush this human spirit throughout history, the man with a liberated body used for exertion to create beauty and improvement, not punishment, no whip; not mere pleasure, but smiling, is the beautiful man of the modern age that humanity has been waiting to create: smiling and laughing and dancing, dancing in the sun like a child who has reawakened after two thousand years of sleep

Physiospiritual

The pre civilized religions were stronger because they had still retained the duality of physicality and spirituality – what is really the same thing but language has managed to somehow split apart like the mind and the body which is simply the nervous system, this too has its own extrasensory energy –what I term physiospiritual, essentially the extrasensory unconscious most often associated with dreams and visions and the physical unconscious associated with muscle memory and instinct. I put these together because in the case of an individual life, the sensation or a very strong feeling pulling one in a certain direction is divine because we are fated to live our life in a certain way: the further we are pulled from this emotional center of what is most natural and beautiful in us, the more miserable and discontent we feel; the closer, the more free and liberated we feel. We do not choose to be who we really are. In fact, we must obey the truth of what we have been born into in the sense of our biology (the traits and genetics we receive from our parents, the son and daughter are the reflection of the strongest instincts and deepest held dreams and passions of their parents ), our historical period (it is impossible to be born in another time: we have to accept it), our place in the world (race, gender, nationality) and our bodies (height, physical ability). For better or for worse. Across the history of human kind from its dawn to its current period human beings have followed this collective unconscious made clear in their nervous system and interests to create the current existence that we occupy, and this started with archaic and primitive man, without language or rationality. And it is still this which we work from today because consciousness is constructed upon the foundation of something reptilian, irrational, preverbal. They were acting from their bodies and something extrasensory, not fully understood, but heard loud and clear: the messages given within the body causing the slight change in the tension of muscle, the rapidity of breath at the sight of certain people, the sharpness of vision or sudden abrupt stop in the process of digestion for some unknown danger, all of this is one and the same with the seemingly ‘opposite’ world of the spiritual unconscious, and in fact these physiological sensations may even be able to be viewed as a physical ‘placement’ of the individual’s destiny and the entire destiny of humankind into their body for the purpose of creating the necessary actions from their past due to its ebb and flow of emotions, the cause and effect of their fated birth leading to the destiny of their highest good and the highest good of all mankind. And when we look around at our surroundings with the understanding that all this came from the foundation of animals who could hardly communicate and lived in constant chaos, it is hard not to believe that the universe has a direction and meaning for individuals and the entirety of humanity. The architect of the universe did not build a stairway leading nowhere

the meaning of life

your life is what you choose to do with your body

thought

the foundation of human psychology is dripping with warm blood which soaks through the entirety of thought and memory and motivations, in fact these are all post hoc rationalizations of the current status of your body. in every “rational” thought, idea, or belief there is the reptilian slithering sensations of your current life within your body which includes your appearance and diet and physique causing your self perception. your personal past and the damning weight of the collective biological/historical past of all of humanity which has been imprinted upon your body call out in that one mere thought

The height of a religious and athletic event

The most clear distinction between the religious ancient Olympics and the secularized modern Olympics is seen most clearly in how the sport of pankration was treated. A reduction to sentences and simplicity: the absolute height of a religious and athletic event. A bloodsport: two men fighting half naked in a cage for a drunken audience. This sport, as well as life for modern man, should become removed from the association with the monotonous greyscale of modern capitalism and raised instead to the level of high art. Pankration / modern MMA deserves to be returned to its natural position as the ultimate sport which the men of antiquity with the noblest poet eyes and warrior hearts saw in it the beautiful nature of humanity, its teeth, its splendor, its lust for life. This sport must be reintegrated into the Olympics: it should be fought in stadiums, amphitheaters, open air – in ancient places where natural light can illumine and create those moments that photography can capture: the clinch, the muscular exertion that comes long and tiring wrestling, the strikes, blood, sweat, the facial muscles contorting from exhaustion, the sensory and emotional and spiritual experience and the understanding that this display which dances on a tightrope between the primitive and the great man is the soil from which we were all born, the soil from which the heights of the achievements of civilization – the finest works of visual art, the greatest works of literature, the discoveries of modern science, the advancement of modern technology – were able to emerge, from the beauty n that is created from the suppression of certain more base impulses and drives and the elevation of other nobler ones – all of this emerges from the literal, visceral instinctual energy that is expressed throughout this exchange. This sport ought to not only be witnessed as fleeting and momentary scenes of athletic greatness within the context of entertainment, but viewed as an achievement in and of itself for all of mankind: these moments of greatness are evidence that man the animal is still capable of inflicting the most primitive and raw violence while, at the exact same time, possessing the most noble traits which have been cultivated purposefully in man throughout the process of civilization which these athletes display them on the surface and in the depths: discipline, focus, the ability to maintain calm under pressure, courage, the ability to think beyond the present moment and what is more – all of this against the disorder and chaos and entropy that capitalism wrenches into the functioning of the human nervous system

violence, religion, artificially constructed society

Religion did not arise from a need for a union with the divine or an experience of the divine but from a need to impose a good or bad, the imperative and need to impress upon man a vision of a literal hell – filled with those who could not control themselves and needed to be tortured for all of eternity as a lesson to the living to not do this and not do this, the cost is the body of the offender – and a vision of a literal heaven in which the morally upright are rewarded with eternal life and freedom from punishment, enslavement, being trapped in a cage. The punishments are not from ‘ethereal’ things, but for base human acts of unrestrained impulse that were and are still common in tribal settings, which is the natural life of humans, even today we are tribalistic and irrational. The emergence of religion and morality is the same exact thing, and the thread which holds both together is violence. And violence allowed impulse to be chained, it made impulse restrained, second guessed, it forced a pause and in this pause, with the advent of language, there became a thought – should I? is it right? what are the consequences? translated into will I be punished, banished, or exiled for doing this? The transition from animal to man was not an easy or small task: the highest task and the greatest accomplishment of humanity as a whole is the capacity for self control of even the strongest and most base instincts, to be able to channel them into something beyond the mere moment, and to instill something this important into an animal it had to be done deliberately and cruelly: how were these rules shared before the advent of reading or writing, how were the rules for conduct shared in the days where there was no advanced verbal language? It was through punishment, and in this sense entire religious works had been impressed upon the human body, one whip at a time, one beating at a time, one whimper at a time prior to the existence of language. And what are religious works: they are books of strict and exacting rules and restrictions for behavior intended to control human beings, allow them to evolve, and dissuade them from acting on impulse to work instead towards some idealized status such as good, noble, the Roman warrior, the Christian saint. The words through the blood of the offender and the power of the disciplinarian took on religious and metaphysical weight due to their importance in the improvement of the human species, which is the chief concern of religion, not mysticism nor ‘the divine.’ The bad moral actor, the good moral police, the gallows, the brand, the cross, the crucifix, the hanging, the lynching, the guillotine, the electric chair, the act of punishment became something which people tied to moral wrong for so long that it is possible that evolution and the development of consciousness itself is nothing more than the trauma passed down generation to generation which has been genetically inherited from the blood of ancestors whipped and burned and tortured into submission and now this has become the blood of modern human beings. There is no need for a cage or whip or brand: consciousness has already ensnared and trapped human beings with guilt, shame, and remorse in what now amounts to a biological prison: no remaining police, no other prisoners, only a whip and a mirror and a capirote. Religious law and common law were indistinguishable, religion and its attempts to create a higher type of person necessitated tightened restrictions, tightened punishments, tightened discipline to create people like diamonds from pressure. And like the blobfish who is accustomed to living under extreme pressure at extreme depths, the human being who has now been exposed to the ridiculously liberated and unrestricted and relaxed morality generated by free market capitalism soon becomes uglier and more repulsive in its moral vacuum. Capitalism is antithetical to the entire course of human evolution in that it rewards those who are the most uninhibited, the most immoral, the most deregulated like the market, dysregulated like their nervous system. The Christian saint and martyr, the Roman athlete and warrior, both of these types created and embodied the spirituality and physicality of their respective societies. And here in its absentia, an issue appears in regards to the shift from the Romans to the Christians to capitalism: what type of person does capitalism attempt to create? What type of person embodies the values of free market capitalism, and does this person lead to an improvement from the state of mere humanity, or does it lead to a decline into mere life. The sad and emptied and hollowed existence of the modern world without physical culture and the arts is the answer. Capitalism is the return to the state of nature, the true and uninhibited state of nature, where in lacking a gardener the garden soon becomes filled with weeds and vines which choke the flowers to death and cause the soil itself to fail

9.11.2001

It was fate. It had all been fate. An event necessitated by causality: the attackers grew in a certain way with certain beliefs due to their shared cultural heritage which had been passed down, a moral system created by those whose values were reactions and responses to the specific challenges in their environment. The roots of this event go decades back, centuries back, millennia back, an eternity back: to the point beyond time, where did the reptile sliver out of the primordial pool and onto land, and when they did how hot was it when they got there.
